Joanie Doss lives in Anchorage, Alaska with her performing birds, The Amazing Amazons. The birds do a 45-minute performance and then have been held by as many as 250 people afterwards. The troupe is made up of two Blue Fronts and two Napes. They are all sexually mature males and all but one are wild captured. Her birds have been performing for over 10 years.

Joanie got her first bird almost 50 years ago. She began training animals about 45 years ago. For the last 15 years she has been working and training parrots. Her articles have appeared in many bird publications and on the internet.
