It is with great happiness we share with you Daphne's home-coming.   After many months in foster care recovering from her wounds  and the subsequent hip repair surgeries, Daphne returned home to her family today.    Daphne was so happy to be home.   She was alert and oriented times 3 with a big smile on her face and her tail wagging 100 times a minute.

Sadly, Daphne's homecoming is bittersweet.   After all that she's been through in the past few months, her veterinarians believe that the recent growth of tumors, along with a "spot on her liver", are most likely malignant.   Without further intervention he estimates 4-6 months.

This is doubly sad for her owner, Peggy Howell as Daphne's best friend and buddy, Bijou the poodle was recently diagnosed with renal failure and given a short-term prognosis.  Life will be difficult for Peggy over the next few months as she cares for Daphne and Bijou while preparing herself to loose 2 of her beloved pets, however it was important to her that Daphne leave this world from her own home, surrounded by those who love her the most. Daphne's veterinarians and AHRCO committee members unanimously agreed.

Peggy, our hearts go out to you for all the pain you have endured over the past few months, and for those to come.   You are a resilient woman and our prayers are with you.

Waldo and me share my bed one last time at Camp Carmel.

My royal carriage. Thank you Mr. Al for all the road trips. The BBSSST is very comfy.

Phew!! what an effort to get down out of my royal carriage, and on my feet. But, I'm good to go now.

Good thing Mr. Al and Mom rethought this plan. So much better combining both ramp parts and going down the other side of the steps into the back yard

In the house, heading to my favorite spot.

I'm home. Where's the rest of my bed Mom?
