CKC Tracking Test - 2009
Test Day, March 22, 2009
The Cornhusker Kennel Club had a lovely overcast but warm day for our
combined TD/TDX near Lincoln, Nebraska, resulting in four new TD titles!
Judges Jeanne Ramirez and Jerry Lewis had four entries who quickly went
through their tracks to their new titles.
 | First up was Medora Harper and Basset Hound Ch. Sasquatch Harper's Kodiak
(new TD!) The gallery had a wonderul time following this boy's happy white
tail tip marking his route through the cover.
|
 | Next came Georgette Wolters and English Springer Spaniel Lacey's Duke Dandy
CDX RE OA OAJ (new TD and VCD2!) It was very obvious to all when this boy
committed to his first turn as he nearly pulled his handler off her feet.
|
 | Then Stephanie Price and Belgian Sheepdog Aleika's Dark Side O'The Moon RN
(new TD!) who didn't let the huge transition coming from dry Colorado to
eastern Nebraska cause them any problems once they settled down to business.
|

| And last but not least, Lynn Buckner and Pembroke Welsh Corgi Brigwyn
Flirtn With The Storm RN (new TD!) who also started very deliberately and
then gained speed with each leg.
|
And though judges Bob Brown and Jerry Lewis plotted lovely TDX tracks, each
of their four entrants ran into a problem, though all the handlers reported
that their dogs did great work when put back onto their tracks. A
Rottweiler made it just past the halfway point, with a Miniature Pinscher,
Labrador Retriever and Belgian Sheepdog not making it to their second corners.
Thank you to all our exhibitors who came from near and far to our tests!
Getting to see their wonderful dogs all do such nice work, pass or not,
makes it all worthwhile.
Thanks to our terrific judges -- it was a pleasure to spend the weekend
working with them.
Thanks to Test Chairperson Dian Quist Sulek, and Chief Tracklayer and
Photographer Diane Hoy who always keep things on time regardless of the
challenges. And to Jayne Tucker and daughter Sarah for keeping everyone
very, very, well fed both Saturday and Sunday.
And thanks to our other tracklayers: Marcy Graybill, Sharlin McDermott,
Burke Morrow and Annie Kelley. Also to our chief crosstracklayer Jan Hague
and her team, Sue Volkmer and Mike Anderson. And thanks to our newest
tracking enthusiasts and flag carriers Jennifer Brown, Melissa
Veys-Marinovich and Nancy Thompson, who weren't too sure what they were
getting themselves into when they volunteered for this weekend.
